We are on the search for a strategic go-getter to join our team to lead the development and implementation of internal and external communications and marketing strategies that will drive forward a range of high priority actions for Beacon, our programs and the communities in which we work.

This new role offers an incredible opportunity for a tactical and practical generalist, who loves to produce on-point communications and is truly driven to apply their ‘superpowers’ to deliver results.

  • Are you a senior communications and marketing generalist with a proven track record of delivering projects and campaigns though to successful completion?
  • Do you have significant experience developing and implementing quality communications?
  • Can you translate, and assist others to translate, complex ideas, information and strategy into simple, meaningful and impactful messages and campaigns?
  • Are you a perceptive leader with the ability to apply professional judgement in the challenge of ambiguity and multiple demands?
  • Are you hands-on and able to lead, mentor and mobilise our team?
  • Are you adaptive, collaborative, resilient and results driven operator?

Are you one of our new Evaluators?

Would you like to be part of a team that is working to support all young people in Tasmania to thrive?

We are growing our initiative and are seeking a team of Evaluators across the State (we’ll be hiring up to 2.5 full-time equivalent staff) to become a key part of the Collective ed. Network working in close partnership with our six sites located in communities across Tasmania. Our sites are based in schools in Bridgewater, Clarendon Vale, George Town, Ulverstone, Deloraine and Sorell. An opportunity also exists for one Evaluator to step-up into our Lead Evaluator position (higher salary) and provide supervision to the Evaluation and Data Team.

The Collective ed. initiative seeks to help more young people in Tasmania to enter a meaningful pathway, including by completing Year 12 or equivalent. To do this, we use a ‘collective impact’ approach, which aims to bring key community partners together to support young people, and the whole community, to thrive; and coordinate collaborative efforts toward making this happen.

Are you inspired yet?

As an Evaluator, you’ll work within and alongside the community to focus on amplifying the school-based and community-based initiatives that Collective ed. helps to implement; and contribute to the gathering, interpretation and sharing of data in a way that makes sense to the community, and enables learning and a nimble response across the community network.

Within your community you’ll work with a small team of dedicated staff as well as have broader school leadership support. You’ll also have access to specialists in collective impact, learning and evaluation, data, communications and strategy who will work with you to achieve shared goals.

Collective ed. operates in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment which requires adaptability, resilience and initiative, as well as excellent strategic and problem-solving skills.

  • Are you an experienced and enthusiastic evaluator?
  • Are you an agile and adaptive person who can respond to ambiguity and to what is unfolding?
  • Do you have strong qualitative and quantitative data literacy and analysis skills?
  • Can you bring responsive, creative and innovative ways to collect data?
  • Are you a natural communicator, with an ability to listen deeply and understand, and engage with people from a variety of backgrounds?
  • Can you apply systems thinking and are aware of the collective impact approach to systems change?

MyRoad Program

If you are keen to get involved with the great work that we do, please consider joining our online community, eBeacon. eBeacon is an online platform that brings a wide range of resources from outside communities to students in schools.  These make school engaging and relevant and prepare students to navigate the more complex careers of the future.

We are currently recruiting volunteers for our MyRoad Program – a 2-hour online mentoring session aimed at matching industry volunteer mentors with young women in their senior years of secondary school, to support students in the development of key skills required to understand and succeed in the changing world of work. Session support materials and training are provided.
