Are you our new National Operational Strategy and Support Manager?

We are on the search for a talented and hands-on business and operational planner who can contribute to the ongoing refinement and action of our purpose across Australia. This role is a career opportunity for someone truly driven to use their strategic, pragmatic and communication superpowers to ‘give back’ and make a difference.

  • Do you have strategic and operational planning skills and a desire to apply these in a for-purpose environment?
  • Can you collate and analyse business information and align to organisational strategy?
  • Do you have a proven track record of producing successful, clear, well-defined project plans that inform the purpose, delivery and implementation of projects?
  • Can you thrive in an environment with varying responsibilities and minimal established processes and systems?

Tasked with developing a business case to support our strategic operational direction and purpose across Australia, your days will be varied and will involve a blend of short- and long-term planning, project management, relationship building, preparing proposals and communications. You’ll be supported by our outstanding program delivery teams, a new (concurrently advertised) Business Development Manager – schools, our Design and Evaluation Manager and Chief Operating Officer.

This position is full-time. While a significant proportion of this role will be based in our Hobart Head Office, regular national travel to meet with schools and other stakeholders will be required.

  • Can you thrive in an environment with varying responsibilities and minimal established processes and systems?
  • Are you willing and able to travel frequently?
  • Do you want to be a key part of Beacon Foundation’s solution to developing the career awareness and adaptability of Australia’s young people?

Tasked with extending the reach of our programs into secondary schools across Australia, your days will be varied and will involve a blend of strategic planning, relationship building, school prospecting and responding to opportunities. You’ll be supported by our outstanding program delivery teams, a new (concurrently advertised) Operations Strategy and Support Manager, our Design and Evaluation Manager and Chief Operating Officer.

Salary packaging As Beacon Foundation is a Public Benevolent Institution (PBI), salary packaging is available.  Salary packaging enables you to reduce the amount of income tax you pay and therefore increases your take-home pay.  Packaging of up to $18,550 per annum (1 April – 31 March) for General Living and meal and Entertainment Expenses is available from your pre-tax income. Volunteering at Beacon:

MyRoad Program

If you are keen to get involved with the great work that we do, please consider joining our online community, eBeacon. eBeacon is an online platform that brings a wide range of resources from outside communities to students in schools.  These make school engaging and relevant and prepare students to navigate the more complex careers of the future.

We are currently recruiting volunteers for our MyRoad Program – a 2-hour online mentoring session aimed at matching industry volunteer mentors with young women in their senior years of secondary school, to support students in the development of key skills required to understand and succeed in the changing world of work. Session support materials and training are provided.
